The Corona Forestal Natural Park (Parque Natural de la Corona Forestal de Tenerife), spanning a total area of nearly 50,000 hectares, is the largest protected natural area in the Canary Islands. Most of this space is taken up by the Caldera de Las Cañadas volcanic structure and the Teide-Pico Viejo geological building, forming a continuous ring which is between 300 and 2,715 meters (at the Alto de Guajara) above sea level.
